Amazon in Poland as early as 2020
19 Feb 2020
Yesterday, 18th February, there were media reports confirming that Amazon is launching in Poland as an ecommerce platform. To date, only Amazon FBA warehouses located in Poland have served sales predominantly for customers from Germany.
According to information obtained by Gazeta Wyborcza and Business Insider, Poland Post has passed Amazon's quality tests and may become Amazon's main carrier in Poland. Additionally, it has been known for some time that InPost is also in talks with Amazon regarding the handling of shipments via its parcel locker network.
If we add to this the fact that additional Amazon training sessions in Polish have appeared in recent weeks and the increased number of Vendor Managers in recent months, one can come to the conclusion that Amazon is indeed preparing for the full launch of sales on Amazon.pl rather than just redirecting traffic to Amazon.de as has been the case until now.
Details are not known, but the most likely timeframe is Q3 or Q4 2020.
