Change of Amazon FBA fees in 2019. Some changes come into effect as of 15th February 2019.
27 Jan 2019
Amazon is changing its policy regarding fees for goods stored for between 181 and 365 days. The changes concerning fees in relation to ageing inventory (Long Term Storage Fees) will take effect from 15 August 2019. However, in the billing cycle for these fees falling on 15 February 2019, goods located in warehouses for 181–365 days will not incur additional costs for long-term storage. The new rules apply to all European markets.
Key changes regarding FBA inventory fees in 2019:
No Long Term Storage fees for inventory in the 181–365 day range.
In the billing cycle on 15 February, these changes will already be in effect. For reference, the previous FBA fee (e.g., for goods in German warehouses) was typically €26 per cubic metre for products up to 180 days, and the Long Term Storage fee for products in the 181–365 day range was €500 per cubic metre. The fee for storing products beyond 365 days remains unchanged.
Monthly billing for Long Term Storage.
Fees for products stored beyond 365 days will be charged on a monthly cycle. The change takes effect on 15.08.2019.
Introduction of a minimum Long Term Storage Fee.
The fee will be £0.10 or €0.10 per unit of product per month for goods over 365 days. The higher of the two fees will apply: per cubic metre at the Long Term Storage rate or the minimum rate. The new rules apply from 15.08.2019.
Reduced monthly fees for oversized products.
The new fees will also take effect on 15.08.2019.
