How to create a simple promotion on Amazon?

There is immense competition on the world's largest sales portal, so you should launch campaigns and promotions not only at the beginning of your operations in this channel but also when you have already achieved stable sales. Today, we will show you how to create the simplest promotion on Amazon.

What to pay attention to when preparing a promotion on Amazon?

- Here are a few basic tips that will help you with this:

The first essential step before starting promotional activities is to prepare a related marketing campaign. Customers need to see your products to take advantage of the promotion.

The second important element is to set the price. Remember that the discount should be significant enough to encourage platform users to make a purchase.

The third aspect is the limited time during which purchases can be made under attractive conditions. Due to the short duration of the campaign, customers will want to buy the product as soon as possible to not miss a good opportunity.

What types of promotions can be created on Amazon?

On the Amazon platform, you can generally choose between two types of promotions. They are:

  • percentage discount, which involves providing a percentage value of the discount, e.g., 10%, 20%, etc.,

  • the second product for free - that is, 1 + 1 free.

At the beginning, you need to decide which option you will choose. Go to Advertising -> Manage Promotions.

Select the one that interests you, and then specify:

  • The minimum number of products that the customer must order to take advantage of the promotion

  • The discount expressed as a percentage

  • Whether the lower price applies to the first purchased product or only to subsequent ones

  • the amount of discount when purchasing a specified number of products.

In the "Purchased Items" tab, you provide the offers to which a particular promotion applies. Click on "Create a new product selection" to create a list of SKUs, ASINs, or brands that you want to attach to it.

The next step is to choose the duration and name of the promotion visible only to you. Then check if everything is correct, enter the name visible to the customer in "Additional Item display text" and confirm the start of the campaign by clicking on "Submit".

What are the benefits of promotions on Amazon?

The most important goal of every action on e-commerce platforms is to generate sales. Promotions, however, also have other tasks, including:

Increasing the visibility of the offering among millions of others in a given product category

Enhancing brand recognition in the market (if you are selling under your own brand)

Improving listing position in search rankings.

- Remember to link the promotion with a properly designed marketing campaign. Customers must be aware of the campaign to take advantage of it. Inform them about attractive discounts on your products. This way, you will increase traffic to product pages and generate higher sales.
